I’m not sure why I’m thinking of Purim in middle of October but I do know that it’s a great source of inspiration for character design projects. Here is an almost completed sketch I did this morning of Achashveirosh. Hopefully, I’ll post the finish product soon. The sketch was done entirely in Photoshop with the use of the brush and eraser tool (and of course, my trusty Wacom tablet).
I wanted to portray him as the evil yet laughable character he was. His face is in a scowl and pose exudes power, yet he is extremely short and has exaggeratedly skinny limbs along with his round figure.
